Iowa Tennis Club

1/29/10 - We have a few open courts on Saturday, February 6. Come by to play if you are in the club, or sign up then to join the club.

1/25/10 - We will be having our semester meeting on Tuesday, January 26 at 8:30 PM in the Minnesota room of the Iowa Memorial Union. Come on by to sign up!

If you cannot make this time, we will be signing people up in the main dining area of the Old Capitol Mall on Wednesday, January 27 from 1:30-3:30 in the afternoon. See you there!

12/13/09 - That's all for the semester. We will be starting anew early next semester, so stay tuned for information!

12/8/09 - Tonight's Reserved court time will be canceled due to the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Center closing early for maintenance.

11/15/09 - Thanks and congratulations to everyone who played in the Black and Gold Invite yesterday at our rec center. We got to the finals, losing to University of Illinois. Results from the tournament are visible on the results page. Also, please continue to take advantage of our open court time.

10/30/09 - Racquetball TONIGHT. An event for club members at the Field house on courts 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 (upstairs ) from 4-6 PM. Just come on by and play!

10/21/09 - Racquet Ball!! Friday, October 30 at the Field House. We will be renting out a few racquet ball courts from 4-6 PM as a special club event. We will also be renting racquets from the Field House so no need to own a racquet (if you do, bring it). See you there!

10/18/09 - Congratulations and thank you to everyone that came with us to Kansas City this weekend! Our A Team won the Missouri Valley Fall Invite and our B team came in 3rd place in the silver bracket. Starting this week, reserved and open court times are all indoors unless the weather is nice, in which case we will move outdoors. We will continually be updating the calendar with new court times. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to e-mail us.

On Sunday, October 18 we will have open courts from 12:30-2:30. There will, however, be no club representatives there due to the Kansas City invite.

9/27/09 - Thanks to everyone who came to the Iowa State meet today. It's always good when we have a fair and friendly, yet competitive meet. Everyone that came played great and we pulled out the win 14-7, riding the Iowa win wave off last night's Penn State game. Good job everyone! Keep looking for open court times in the next few weeks and you can still pick up your shirts there.

9/23/09 - Due to the Iowa State Match this Sunday, September 27, we will not be signing up new members or distributing balls/club shirts on that date. We will, however do these activities the following Sunday, October 4. See you then.

9/21/09 - We have our first match of the semester coming up THIS sunday the 27th away against Iowa State. We will leave around 8:30am and come back around 5 in the evening so let us know if you are interested in playing. Non-team spots are limited and will be awarded at a first come first serve basis. Also check out the Intramural tournament through rec services coming up on Oct 17/18. Lastly, please keep taking advantage of our open court time we had a great showing this past week so let's keep it up!

9/14/09 - We would like to thank everyone who tried out for the traveling team. We had the stiffest competition this semester than ever before. Please check your email for your next step. If you did not receive an e-mail, we unfortunately did not have enough room on the Traveling Team, but encourage you to stay involved with our open court times, activities and open meets (will notify you by email). If you have any questions please let us know, thanks!

On Sunday, September 20th during the open court time, we will begin passing out two cans of balls for each member. See you there.

9/12/09 - QUICK UPDATE: We have heard much concern over the open court times for the club and we want to assure you that times will be posted very soon. We have had an overwhelming (around 60 players) amount of players looking to try out for the traveling team and we have had to set aside time to give each player his/her opportunity. Once tryouts are finished, we will have plenty of court time for everybody.
